Meghana Bisineer is exhibiting time lapse animation at the Poetry Library as part of the ongoing summer exhibition 'Art on Poetry'. I liked her animation 'Always for the First Time' situated outside the library by the lift. She used the window as a surface to paint on and by painting over time and using the view as a backdrop she has created a sense of movement. Looking out of a familiar window the viewer sees a familiar view. There is a sense in which she has seen it all before but each day is slightly different. These subtle differences are amplified by using the constraint of repetition. The start of each section of the animation seems to be the same but then I spotted the differences. I reflected that life goes on and on day after day. It seems the same but by focusing on the details I see small changes and can enjoy the moment.
