Rain of Poems

Expectation

the assembled have gathered
by appointment and chance
waiting on fresh green grass
at dusk
looking above into the grey sky.
awaiting

the rain begins.
with outstretched arms
they move
watching and waiting

until
the poems tumble
twist and turn
blown on the breeze

the scramble
arms outstretched
to grasp to hold to keep to read to reflect to ponder
poetry for us

written by the author of this blog when at 9pm on 26 06 2012 one hundred thousand poems by over 300 contemporary poets from 204 countries fell into Jubilee Gardens.
