Performances, readings and book-launches on Saturday 16 November 2013
these are the ones I went to:
Royal Holloway MA in Poetic Practice www.rhul.ac.uk poets from the course read their latest poems
Kurt Johannessan's readings were brief, funny and profound. He attributed thoughts to inaminate objects using just a few words to great effect and spoke of the dangers of being a chocolate teddy bear, yellow rubber ducks and a chocolate mouse with a near death experience. How refreshing to see things from a different perspective! www.zeth.no
Sarah Bodman and writers spoke about the ' al Mutanabbi Street starts here ' project and read writing connected to it www.bookarts.uwe.ac.uk/mutanmain12.htm
bookRoom Press Launch www.thebookroom.net/bookroom-press/latest-projects
...the book is a time based medium and a dialogue happens when people come together around a project ......
having 'events' at a book fair really 'adds' to the experience .... attending these readings/launch gave me a good insight into what the publishers are about.....
click on the links below to see some of the other publishers who were at the fair this year:
