Not Blogging

I have not posted for a while. And I don't have to. But my art is still developing and I am reflecting on what I have done. Since finishing my Book Art degree here in London I have continued to maintain my interest in  book arts whilst taking up painting and poetry. I've  been thinking about combining all three: painting, poetry and book art. Now I realise that I have already done this in a book art object I made on my degree course:

I found this is poem which was written hundreds of years ago when the Thames was really dirty ...and made this book art object about the Thames.

So I will think more about combining poetry, book art and painting in future works ..... right now I am exhibiting my paintings in a joint exhibition in London.

  1. I wish you much luck! Sounds wonderful! As a poetry orientated person myself I would love to view your paintings. Any clues as to where you are exhibiting?

Poetry does get 'under the skin' in the most delightful way and to combine paintings, books and poetry is a real feast (I think) for the audience.

Post degree, it can be pretty difficult to keep up the momentum and find a direction. I've put 'feelers' out to collaborate but where I live this is proving rather difficult so I am continuing on my own. To be honest, I loved doing the book arts degree so much it just fuelled my passion for books and art even further. I look forward to hearing more about how it all goes.
